Road test: Model 579 EPIQ validation run

With Associate Engineer Michael Goodman at the wheel, American Trucker Editor-at-Large Sean Kilcarr went on a test drive with a Peterbilt Model 579 EPIQ tractor to learn more about how "real-world" fuel economy highway tests are being used to validate what the OEM calls "full vehicle simulation" software.

In other words, Pete's vehicle engineers want to use computing power to generate and more rapidly isolate trend data so improvements to truck and tractor designs can be made at a faster pace, while also customizing them better for specific applications.
