Reminder: ‘Citizen Driver’ nominations due Sept. 30

Do you know a truck driver who earns public respect for the industry through good citizenship, safety, community involvement, health and wellness, and leadership? If you do, TA and Petro want to know about him or her, and the nomination period for the Citizen Driver Award runs through the end of the month.

“Citizen Driver intends to honor our industry’s professional truck drivers who best exemplify the kind of quality individuals that we all know exist in trucking,” says TravelCenters of America President and CEO Thomas O’Brien. “Citizen Driver also intends to bring these drivers’ stories to the general public. We should be proud of the great men and women who drive trucks in America, and America should hear their stories.”

The Citizen Driver winners will be announced at the Mid-America Truck Show in March.  Among other honors and prizes, winners will have a TA or Petro location named for them.

Anyone can nominate a driver: fleet owners, employees, husbands, wives, sons, daughters, trucking organization members, trucking industry suppliers, according to TravelCenters. For more information and the online nominating form, visit the Citizen Driver Award homepage.
