Peterbilt’s two-night VIP event included general session presentations and product/market information, along with an opportunity for test drives around the infield of the Texas Motor Speedway, located not far from the OEM’s Denton, TX, manufacturing plant and engineering center.
Peterbilt set up its Innovation & Class Tour trailer on the infield to provide attendees with a detailed overview of the Paccar MX engine line.
Engine displays are the centerpiece of Peterbilt's Innovation & Class Tour trailer. Peterbilt noted that it holds several "VIP" events through the year,; some at the Speedway, at Paccar's MX engine plant in Mississippi engine plant, and at Paccar's Technical Center in Washington state. Each VIP sports a different theme, such as vocational, medium-duty, on-highway, and in this event's case engine offerings.
Peterbilt's trailer includes an "Oculus Rift" virtual reality experience that provides a "3D inside the truck experience," according to the OEM.
Peterbilt experts were on hand to discuss the latest truck and engine specification insights.
Peterbilt made five trucks available at its VIP event for ride and drives: three Model 579s and two Model 567s, all equipped with either an MX-13 or MX-11 engine. A further three trucks were on display by NASCAR garage at the Speedway, with more than a dozen supplier exhibits staged inside the garage.
